That's what internationally acclaimed physician Dr. Stephen Holt, M.D., calls calcium derived from eggshells. In his book, The Antiporosis Plan, Dr. Holt goes on to say “Eggshells are a powerhouse of essential nutrients.” Holt also cites numerous scientific studies demonstrating that calcium and other micronutrient minerals derived from eggshells exert beneficial effects on bone density. This is due, in part,  to the fact that the crystalline structure of micronized eggshell results in a naturally  smaller, more porous particle, which provides more surface area, in turn leading to a potentially higher rate of absorption, he says.
