The first milk produced from the breast is colostrum. Bovine colostrum has been used increasingly as nutritional support to promote healthy immune function and it has other beneficial nutritional effects related to its content of other important molecules.
HOWEVER, colostrum given in a plain format to an adult companion animal, e.g. as a powder or tablet, is not absorbed intact and it may not produce the desired biological effects. IN FACT, much of the colostrum is digested in the gastrointestinal tract of an adult pet. TO OVERCOME THESE PROBLEMS, colostrum can be given inside small bubbles of fat called LIPOSOMES, that help to facilitate absorption and provide protection from digestion.
LIPOSOME COLOSTRUM is the most advanced form of bovine colostrum available as a food supplement for companion animals. The colostrum used in this product is standardized and tested to contain a thirty percent antibody fraction. This colostrum is presented in the unique liposome delivery system, which forms an easily administered, highly concentrated liquid.
